In Conversation with Alan Held
Warwick Historical Society Presents: “In Conversation with Alan Held” – A Journey Through Warwick’s Railroading Past
The Historical Society of the Town of Warwick invites the public to a fascinating afternoon of local history with Town of Warwick Deputy Historian Alan Held.
Sunday, May 31st
2:00PM to 4:00PM
A part of our "In Conversation With" series, Alan's engaging presentation will explore the 28 miles of railroad lines that once connected Warwick’s villages and hamlets, shaping the region’s growth, commerce, and daily life. Through a richly illustrated talk featuring historic maps, rare photographs, and compelling then-and-now comparisons, attendees will gain a vivid understanding of the trains, stations, and stories that defined the community.
From rail lines still in operation today to routes abandoned more than a century ago, this program offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the infrastructure that helped build Warwick.
This event follows a previous standing-room-only program, and attendance is expected to be high.

Intro to Beekeeping - by Roger Moss
Intro to Beekeeping
Come to this introduction to beekeeping at Oasis Farm and enjoy a fact filled presentation by the farm beekeeper, Roger Moss. You’ll be amazed at the way colonies of honeybees work together to keep their young well-fed, groom and care for the queen bee, and how many bees it takes to produce a pound of honey.
This presentation will also include a safe way to get up close to live bees. If you care about the difficulties honeybees encounter to stay healthy and productive, you can join the Oasis Honey CSA. The cost is $40 but only $20 when you register for the event. You’ll get periodic updates on how the bees are doing during the warm seasons and over the winter, and you’ll get a 1 pound jar of honey extracted from Oasis Apiary.
